Why Should the Devil Have All the Good Music

Change of plans!

After sleeping on it and thinking about my blog and after talking to my special someone, I decided that I should probably narrow down my blog even more.
Music is a broad topic and it'll be hard to talk about music from way back when and there's so many different kinds of music and so on. So I have decided that my blog is just going to be over Christian Contemporary music! I'll throw in a few hymns and a few instrumental along the way too, just to shake things up :)

Jesus Music

CCM was originally called "Jesus Music." It came out of the Jesus movement revival in the late 60s.
Paul Wohlegemuth, who wrote the book Rethinking the Church said, "[the] 1970s will see a marked acceptance of rock-influenced music in all levels of church music. The rock style will become more familiar to all people, its rhythmic excesses will become refined, and its earlier secular associations will be less remembered."
Jesus Music is a mixture of rock and folk music, which is separate from traditional or southern gospel music.
The first full-blown Christian rock album was released by Larry Norman in 1969, called Upon This Rock.

Personally, I don't listen to this kind of music normally. But it shows the influence of the time and it shows the birth of what we now know as Contemporary Christian Music.

And the Lord said, “Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock Exodus 33:21
